Three map sessions, a pile of Smuggler’s Caches, and still no Vox Twins contract? That frustration is normal in POE 3.29, where The Twins is a rare unique Heist contract rather than a guaranteed quest drop. The best way to keep the grind productive is to build your POE currency stockpile while checking each Cache, instead of treating every map as a pass-or-fail test for one contract.

First, Fix the Quest Order

The Rescue has a story trigger that’s easy to rush past. Rescue Hana, reach the Vox section, and stay in the area until Kurai’s dialogue finishes and the alarm sequence begins. Leaving immediately after the rescue objective updates can leave the quest feeling stalled, even though the contract itself may be fine. Return to Rogue Harbour afterward and speak with Kurai before chasing the separate unique contract.

Why the Contract Takes So Long

Contract: The Twins is tied to Smuggler’s Caches, but no public Cache count guarantees its appearance. You can run several maps with the correct Heist content and see nothing useful. From what I’ve seen, players lose more time by rebuilding their Atlas setup after every dry streak than they would by simply continuing their normal POE 3.29 map route.

There’s another trap: completing the unique contract before the preceding quest stage is properly turned in. Earlier patch information and later player reports both point to quest-order problems around unique contracts. The safer sequence is simple: complete The Rescue, confirm Kurai’s progression, then enter Contract: The Twins when you find or acquire it.

Trade-league players can look for a copy from another player, take it to Rogue Harbour, and complete the encounter directly. Self-found players need to keep opening Caches. Either route works, but don’t let the search wreck your broader progression: run red maps, collect contracts and blueprints, and keep other POE 3.29 objectives moving at the same time.

Making Challenging Curators Less Painful

The Vox Twins count as one option for 21: Challenging Curators, which asks for six eligible encounters at level 80 or higher. Check the contract’s area level before entering; a successful kill on a lower-level copy may not satisfy the challenge condition. The challenge offers alternatives such as Izaro, an Abyssal Lich, the Omnitect, a Beyond boss, an Expedition boss, and selected Kingsmarch encounters, so The Twins isn’t mandatory.

At least in my experience, the smart play is to prepare two routes. Keep hunting the Vox contract if you want the encounter, but save suitable materials for an easier Curators option. POE 3.29 awards challenge cosmetics at 12, 24, 32, and 36 completed challenges, so you can leave four unfinished from the 40-challenge set. That makes a rare Heist target a choice, not a wall.

The Checklist I Wish I Had Earlier

Before assuming the quest is broken, confirm that The Rescue was completed rather than abandoned, inspect the Heist storage section, leave and re-enter Rogue Harbour, and read Kurai’s current objective carefully. If you completed The Twins early, repeated map runs may not repair the dialogue state immediately. Record which contract happened first; that small detail helps separate ordinary rarity from a quest-order issue.

The short version is patience with a plan: finish the dialogue, verify Kurai’s progress, farm Smuggler’s Caches during useful maps, and check the area level before using the contract.
